How wonderful! Proof to the world that Bassets are trainable.
Congratulations!

It is my belief that EVERY Basset should train for and get a CGC. You
will learn more than the dog does but you both will benefit from having
a CGC in the family. 

A year ago Diamond and I started training with the new year, failed the
CGC test in February and passed in March. TDI therapy testing is not too
much of a stretch beyond that. It is mostly a reliable sit and stay for
5 minutes with distractions and an extremely strong Leave It for your
dog's safety. We passed that test in June on the first try.

After the dubious honor of being the only dog of ten tested that
February afternoon to fail, Diamond has redeemed himself with a CD title
and recently with an obedience High in Trial (actually 2) at a Basset
Specialty show.
