[Dailydrool] update on Max & a question

First, thanks for all the drool & emails for Max as he tries to recover from bloat. He's really having a hard time still & could use any spare drool still though. His surgery was just over a week ago now (last Tuesday) and still looks miserable. The first 2 or 3 days he would eat a little, move around some, drink his water, poop & pee (which made us all VERY happy). Since then he hasn't really eaten in about 4 days and just looks so uncomfortable. Dad took him in to the vet again Monday & they did an xray and said they could see some gas in his intestines/ stomach but that "everything else looked ok". They also felt he had an infection since he had a temp of about 104 (i think thats what dad said anyway) so they gave him antibiotics to take. Giving him pills is the worst part of his day.... he HATES it! He just looks like he doesn't feel good which makes us feel horrible. Add to it my nephew (who just turned 4) who loves Max about as much as he does his own mommy.... he
 just keeps looking at us all wanting to know "why's my doggie Max sick?" or "he's getting better, right mommy?". Are we just being over protective & paranoid? Has anyone else gone thru this?
   
  Sorry for going on & on, but I'm sure you all understand too. I'm sure Max would send drool to everyone else in need & to those that lost their houndies, but I don't know if he can really spare any right now... so just know  that you are in our thoughts & prayers.
