It is with very heavy hearts, Ed and I write to say our sweet Samantha lost her battle with cancer this week.  She fought the disease with a grace like no other, she never knew she was sick, and kept a lilt in her step until the day she died.  

After nearly twenty years, the house is basset-less.  We are going to miss morning struggles for mama’s pillows, sweet basset morning kisses which always raise a giggle, finding her laying so close to the fireplace she is hot to the touch, pink toys, sunbathing, ahhrroos, heated blankets, being drug across a park to see a small child, sharing the couch, and loosing the covers.

She was a joy from day one, always a happy little girl.  She was a gift and she is missed dearly.
