Kim,
You can spay some bitter apple on the curtains. I don't think it stains. You can find it at just about any pet store. If that doesn't work there are other scents and flavors that might work. If you have a petsmart nearby you can keep trying till something works and they will gladly refund or exchange no questions asked.
