[Dailydrool] Injured eyelid?

The inner eyelid comes up during sleep, helps protect the eye and is
probably up because it helps with tear production (that aside from the
involuntary reaction to eye trauma0.

Anatomy (with explanation of The Nictitans - Third Eyelid)

You should definitely see the vet, and if they don't have the tools, then a
veterinary ophthalmologist.

There could be a broad number of outcomes from a hit to the eye. Physically
striking the socket, the eye, etc. and how hard the hit was will determine
how bad any one condition will be.

She could have pupil damage (trauma), could have swelling (usually noticed),
could have retinal detachment, etc... so that's why it is important to see
the vetman and a specialist if the vetman isn't sure.

Some initial symptoms will go away quickly, but some longer term damage may
not appear (detachment) for days or weeks.

Anyway.. it is something to be taken seriously.. although our hounds can't
speak so that makes diagnosis and prevention of further issues much harder.

Well, a tennis ball hit her smack in the face. When I grabbed her to see if
she was OK, her eyes were all wrong.
The membrane was up and over the whole eyeball on one eye and partially on
the other.
