Flicks with subtitles may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you go to the newest Audrey Tautou romantic comedy that's been released here, "Priceless," you will be rewarded with a few minutes of basset screen time right at the beginning.

The male lead of the film is seen walking six dogs for guests at a posh resort in the south of France, and one is a basset. They show the character returning the long-haired chihuahua to its owner, who picks it up and gushes baby talk. Then he returns the basset to its owner, a 50-ish woman with garishly dyed red hair who seriously inquires about the basset's walk because he is allegedly "so anxious around other dogs." Of course, the "anxious" basset just sits there calmly and does absolutely nothing. The basset figures prominently in one other scene during the dog walk, but I won't spoil that for anyone who sees the film.
