In Yiddish it is exactly what someone said yesterday...those boy parts that DON'T come off in "tutoring."
It's not a nice word, and is replaced by "shmo" as a euphemism.  Regarding PetSmart, you'd have to be using it as an insult, not just a Bassetese spelling.
