[Dailydrool] $40 down the drain, or two dead bassets for adoption

It was such a nice day here in the South, I got the lame-brained idea of putting out tons of pansies in my new front yard flower garden.  When I started looking at the nursery, I absolutely knew I had two hounds under two years old, but for some reason that did not cross my mind.

And when I started planting and they stole the little plastic things the plants come in, I even laughed and thought that was cute.  As I said, it was a beautiful day in the South.

It was when they stole the plants before they were out of the little plastic things that I first began to feel maybe I had made a mistake.  But I scolded them about this, took back my flowers, and continued to plant.

The big wrestle spilled way over into my new flower garden, and nothing was sacred at that point.  Pine straw was flying, pansies, both planted and unplanted, were smooshed and beaten down.  The wrestling continued until they had knocked down my St. Francis statue and rolled over another semi-new plant on the way out the other side into the yard.

By this time I'm thinking dead dogs.  I paid $40 for my pansies, which I'm thinking I'll lose a good $35.50 when all is said and done.  I guess if I can keep one alive through the winter, it will be a miracle.

So after I have thoroughly killed Lowretta and Lillie Pearl, would anyone like to adopt them for $35.50?
