[Dailydrool] buster brown basset hound & his coat

buster brown basset hound is a wuss.  yes it's true.  he pretends to be king of the entire world...a manly man...but in reality he is indeed a WUSS amongst wusses!.  once the temperature drops beneath a certain say 40 degrees...the boy begins his "i live with an evil woman who doesn't care if i freeze to death routine" 
 
last year friends sent me a lands end dog coat for him after i mentioned he looked like he was was shivering at the park.  buster is the first short coated dog i have ever had.  i didn't know if he would even let me put the coat on him.  well it came....and he did.  
 
it turns out...he LOVES his coat.  so much so that he fusses if it isn't put on him.  when don vito barkaleone came as a foster to us last year...he was so small and skinny we got him one too...the two of them would race around looking like minituare race horses in their coats...happy as could be.  now of coarse since vito is all grown up and twice the size he was (he is living large at camp arfur) the coat doesn't come close to fitting him..
 
now that has turned cold i broke out the coat for buster again...and he spends his time at the park a happy boy...running around tormenting other dogs while being all snuggly warm.  there are 2 other bassets who use the same park and they will be getting coats after their owners saw buster in his....
 
the funniest thing is that when it is bitter cold out buster (coat and all) plops his butt on sophie the bernese mountain dogs back and hangs out with her...it's about the only time he deems her worthy of his attention  (except when he and cooper indulge in their daily game of "sophie tipping" at the dog park)
 
oh and mr cooper the bassetter...he being of longer coat...hates the snow, loves the cold and while he adores feather boas and dressing up wouldn't be caught dead in a winter coat.
 
worst thing about the damn coat is when it turns to spring and the damn fool basset still feels that he can't be seen in public without the coat...he pouts, throws tantrums, etc....what can i say...the boy so isn't right!
