FYI:

Here is an extensive discussion of the 3 major tick-bourne diseases in the
United States. This is a very comprehensive article and quite informative,
well-written and terrifying. Since I live in an area with heavy
Lyme disease, I will probably print a copy out for Doc. Altho, I have to say
that he has never, ever been
slow to suggest running a tick-panel on a sick or gimpy dog, if things do
not improve quickly. All of my
dogs have had, at one time or another, tick panels run. I may start doing it
as a matter of course. I usually
have complete bloodwork done on all dogs once a year until they are 8 and
twice a year after that, anyway.
