[Dailydrool] Archie the Basset in Western PA Shelter

Dear Droolers,

I was contacted by the manager of the Action for Animals Humane Society in
Latrobe, PA, wondering if basset rescue could take in Archie, a young and
handsome male basset. He has been there a while and is not doing well in
the shelter environment. He is an adolescent male with an attitude (his
brain hasn't arrived yet, of course). He demonstrates aggressive behaviors
toward most men and most dogs, although he might be OK with some female
dogs. Archie is very sweet and affectionate with people he likes and
trusts. They're going to try to have one of their good male volunteers work
with him, but they are a good-sized shelter and resources are very limited.
He has just been neutered and is up-to-date on shots. He desperately needs
a foster home with folks who understand bassets, and neither Tri-State
Basset Hound Rescue nor Droopy Basset Rescue has a foster home available for
a troubled soul like Archie.

A spot in a kennel won't do him any good, as he needs someone to teach him
manners and how to become as bootiful on the inside as he is on the outside.
Now, before it's too late and these behaviors become permanent, is the time
to help this fellow.

Here's the link to his photo:

If anyone can help, please contact the shelter directly, or if you want to
foster either for Droopy or Tri-State, contact me off list.

Thanks!

Pat Dill
