[Dailydrool] the licking basset

[LaRock Hounds]

Maggie, my eldest basset, will lick the couch over and over. She will lick
in her sleep as if she is dreaming of food.  She will lick off the floor
anything she finds.  Yesterday was the first time I seen her lick a stuffed
animal though.  We had gone to the state fair and my daughter bought a
webkinz cow.  She sat beside Maggie after we got home and Maggie's sniffer
was going and then she began to lick and lick the stuffed cow. This is from
a dog who refuses to play with toys.  My daughter was giggling and a
lightbulb turned on in my head.  I know exactly why Maggie was licking--she
could smell the 3 Gordon basset boys on the stuffy.  See, my daughter bought
the toy at the ABC Slobber Shoppe set up at the fair.  This stuffed cow had
to be pawed by either Doc, Dudley or Diesel before.  It was so funny to
see.  Wish I had my camera ready to tape her doing that.
