[Dailydrool] Not such a fun day

Round the corner from my house is a pub. It's a well-run sort of place with decking at the front where people sit on nice days. A beautiful malumite also lives there. Her name is Mim.

We have walked past Mim a million times. She was there before Rolph and Clara came to live with me. In the past she has stepped off her deck to share sniffs with them, or totally ignored them.

Today, as we walked past, she suddenly launched herself at Clara, barking, snarling, biting. I was holding both dogs and my daughter had a load of books we were returning to the library. I was trying to drag Clara away, Thea was trying to take Rolph so I could help Clara better and I was using my ladylike tones to summon the landlord to control his dog.

To be fair he flew out of the pub and sent Mim inside. he then apologised profusly and helped me check Clara over. Thankfully she was fine.

This is the second time Clara has suffered this sort of attack. A few weeks ago a neighbour's spaniel flew out of her front door and attacked Clara when we were on the other side of the road.On both occassions the attacking dogs ignored Rolph, who stayed right out of it.

Is there a reason Clara has turned into the local attack bait? Does anyone knoe why she is attacked and ROlph ignored?
  Thanks
