[Dailydrool] Mid-ABHR Fall Picnic

Despite rather oppressive heat, our Fall Picnic was quite a success!  Registration was handled by the wonderful Dawn Ward, who was accompanied by her two grandchildren, and Lois Lema, watched over by Mr. Cooper and Buster Brown.
 
The food was good and plentiful, with grillmasters Bill (Michelle Schuster's dad) and Lou Colonna, assisted by Michelle's mom Dale and Nancy Casper. 
 
New to announcing, although obviously a pro at working the crowd, Alan Schacter played judge for the games, assisted by the lovely June Fisher and two children Josh and Brittany. Josh also took photos of the picnic. Sirius (Sheldon & Bracha Stern's wonder hound), who reported on the picnic yesterday, came in 1st in Lights Out, and was suspiciously snoring away under the cloth. Barney & Baylee (Lou and Chris Malenchek's hounds) came in 1st with their corn dog handmade costumes, with Doris Sweeney's Lily & Lola coming in a very close second with adorable flower girl costumes. Marilyn Sergent and her Dexter beat out the pack in Musical Beds. Buddy won Longest Ears at 23 1/2".
 
The raffle table had quite a variety of hound and human items - thanks to all who so generously donated! The highly-sought after special raffle handpainted Adirondack chair set was won by Michelle Schuster, without whose help, along with her husband Rob, the picnic would not have been as smoothly run. Special thanks as well to Donna & Bob Funk for their generous donation and coffee sales, Ann Marie Gaudio and Lou & Chris Malenchek for helping to clean up, as well as all who attended.
