Presuming then that Moses is an only child ....er... basset :)
 
is he sleeping in a crate in your room?
 
You might try that... were he *not* an only chi---er---basset, you would be
crating him in a room with other hounds .... and it is more likely the
"pack" atmosphere that he is missing.
 
but that's just one thought...

...  we are so torn on when to use the crate. before bringing moses home, we
were sure we wanted to have him sleep in the crate at night as we've heard
it is good for him, good for us,  ....
