Hi Brooke! I loved your post and congrats on your new little baby boy!
I remember when I brought home my little Diva (she's 3 now), she was
just like what you described Moses to be...soft, cuddly, a total ball of
love and snuggles, and I couldn't bare to let her sleep anywhere but
right under my neck on my pillow, then I'd carry her out to the potty in
the morning, because heaven forbid her little toesies had to touch the
floor!!! Plus it is so nice to just have them close to you! I have two
of them now, another wonderful girl named Sophie came to us from rescue
and the two of them sleep (most nights) in the laundry room/pantry with
a baby gate up...but some nights, I cheat and want them in my bed to
snuggle. They both do just fine either way, some nights Diva will whine
a little, and sometimes she throws an all out fit, but that is very
rare, and it usually lasts about 3 minutes until she realizes it's bed
time and she has to get over it. If you want my not-very-expert
opinion, as just a mommy to two bassets who rule my heart and my world,
they do not stay that little and precious and puppy-ish very long, and
what you do now will form his personality for the rest of his life. If
you can, snuggle with him, hold him whenever you can, love him more than
you know you should and never stop breathing in that sweet angel puppy
breath. Diva is a spoiled little rotten princess, and she is the
absolute love of my life! I know I made her that way, so I give her a
little slack. (wink wink) If it ends up interfering with your sleep or
something like that - for example when he's 60lbs and has no idea he's
not a little puppy anymore, and you end up in a little corner of the bed
so HE can be comfortable (happens to me all the time), then you may want
to look at the alternatives, but for now, there is nothing wrong with
taking him into your bed and snuggling up with him all you want. He's
bonding with you. Enjoy it!!!

Snooters!
