regarding the bassets licking the salves off, have you tried ''CLOUD
NINE HERBAL HEALING SALVE'' it's made by a company called HALO and
it's especially for pets. It's all natural, and wont hurt the dogs
even if they lick it off, which for some reason they don't seem too do
with this brand.  my Copper is very allergic to fleas and this works
