[Dailydrool] BASSETS & COFFEE

Hi Menzie,

Well, my boys have definitely had their share of Moon Doggie coffee beans -
one or two at a time, though. And only because I dropped them and they were
faster than me. Unfortunately, I can't tell when Marley gets them because
he is ALWAYS wound up like he just drank a triple shot of espresso. But if
they don't chew them, they pretty much come out the same way they went in.

Again, that is, if your dog eats ONE or TWO beans. If your dog ate a LOT of
beans, then you need to be concerned. Caffeine is similar to a chemical
called "Theobromine". This is the chemical found in chocolate that is
dangerous for dogs. The difference is that Theobromine is ten times weaker
than caffeine! Caffeine affects the central nervous system and can cause
cardiac arrhythmias and seizures in dogs.

Keep that bottle of hydrogen peroxide mixture handy. Better to induce
vomiting than to "wait and see".

Hope this helps,

Donna Funk
