hi, haven't written in a long time, but my basset is having trouble and i wonder if anyone has any advice.

Percy is 11 yrs. old and blind in one eye.  Her other eye has been giving her trouble for a couple months.  Well, now she has a scratched cornea and the vet says it's very cloudy in the front of her eye, but he can tell that the back of the eye isn't responding to light.  So she's been completely blind for about 3 days.  And it has totally overwhelmed her.  She seems very upset.  The vet wants to continue or medication for the scratched cornea and keep her sedated over the weekend, but he doesn't think she'll regain her sight.  And he says some dogs never get used to being blind, but some do.

Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences?
