[Dailydrool] Flowers for Stella

Each Sunday someone in my church congregation provides the flowers on the alter in memory or honor of someone.  Well, leave it to me, for the first time in the 150 year history of our church I put flowers on the alter in memory of our Stella, whose 12th birthday would have been April 4.  I told the florist what I was doing and generally what I wanted, and she made the most beautiful spring arrangment with one huge gorgeous pink daisy in the middle of it all.  Well, to say I teared up would be an understatement.

    But what was amazing was that after church so many people came up to me to talk about Stella, or to find out about her, or to tell me about their dog's passing.  And for someone who thought they would be made fun of (but who didn't care) it seemed that people were very loving and caring, which is the way church is supposed to be.

    Tomorrow I'll take the arrangement to a nursing home for the residents to enjoy.

    Stella lives always in our hearts, and she just keeps making good things happen for others from the Bridge.
