First, Debbie I am so glad that Elwood and Bob are home and doing well. He sure had us worried again. Sure hope that Clara can relax now - not good for her heart or yours. As for the neighbors it might be better to just drink then cause problems.

Now I can write about Bessie.

Just before we were leaving Aunt Judy's house Bessie hurt herself going up some stairs so we did a trip to the vet/chiropractor. Her back legs give out every once in a while and she falls over. He straightened out her neck and worked on her hind end and gave us pain meds. We made the drive to San Diego in 2 1/2 days (2500 miles). Not once did Bessie whine or cry. She decided that Cracker Barrel's chicken tenders and macroni and cheese was her meal of choice, so what Bessie wants Bessie gets. It was the last night in Phoenix that Bessie and I really bonded. She loved sleeping on the nice soft bed and really liked their breakfast of sausage and scrambled eggs. That was the first time we heard her cry and that was for more food. The first night we slept in the car (it was 4:00 am when we stopped) Bessie had the quilt and Sue and I froze. Bessie just takes everything in stride and has the best attitude.

When Bessie drinks water she sticks half her face in the bowl, blows bubbles with her nose and comes up dripping water like a hippo. A tad bit messy but cute.

Last night I said let's go night-night it was so cute as she tried to sprint down the hallway to the bedroom and yes she now sleeps on the bed.

Thank you again Droopy Basset Rescue for saving Bessie and all the people that donated for her care. She is an absolute jewel and I am lucky to have her. My promise was that she would not want for anything and that is a promise I will keep.
