Dear Brudder,

Have your slabe call the county humane society if you have one and report this to the animal cruelty people.  A 40+ year old man should have more sense than to shoot off some explosive device that goes into a neighbors' yard. 

I would not recommend the beers before a visit to the neighbors' house as alcohol just fuels the fire, in my opinion.
