Has Basil had the dandruff every since you got him? If so, what was he
eating then? If not, what have you been feeding him since you got him? And
are you sure there isn't an underlying problem with his health that could be
causing the dandruff?

About 1 1/2 years ago, Bess also had dandruff. I thought it might be from
stress caused from Rosey's attacks on her, but it turned out that she just
had dry skin. 
BUT I didn't realize that until I had her on the Cancer Diet for her
Liposarcoma, which calls for double the amount of Wild Salmon Oil I usually
give her. Within weeks the dandruff was gone. So you might want to try WSO
for Basil's dandruff.
