[Dailydrool] Patio Door Dog Doors

Tina, patio dog doors work great, but--- They are fairly expensive. I paid $160.00 for mine at Home Depot. It is very tough, the same as a regular dog door, so should stand up to the lab. The flap can be replaced, so it should last pretty much forever for the investment. But, they cut into the door area. I didn't mind this much, you just turn sideways. It drove my 6 ft. 4 inch 200 lb. son nuts when he tried to go in and out to BBQ. We finally took ours out and made a hole in the side of the house and put in a regular dog door. I would measure the opening and the dog door width and close the door to that point and go in and out a bit and see if you can deal with it.
And not to trash the pet places (Petco, Petsmart, etc.) but I just bought a regular dog door for my mom and the doors were about $70.00 almost everywhere. I found some on line cheaper, but the shipping kicked it back up. Home Depot had a lifetime warranty door for $52.00. It still seems a lot to pay for
what you get, but better than some other places.
