[Dailydrool] mole deterrent

I can't remember the why's or what's of this, but years ago we had a serious mole problem. Someone told us to stick pieces of spearmint chewing gum into the holes and that would solve the problem. I don't know what it does or why it works- but it did! We still have moles- I see them now and again, but it appears they are now living somewhere other than in our lawn. If you try this- for the safety of your bassets ( we all know how they can find stuff), stick the gum down into the hole and use REGULAR gum- DO NOT buy sugarfree or any gum with artificial sweeteners as they can be toxic to your hound. Regular gum should not cause any problems...well maybe bigger "basset" holes vs the mole holes you are trying to get rid of LOL!
