Hounds are bred to work independently as hunters or trackers, not waiting for every signal from their masters, like a border collie. A hound dog has to hunt, capture, kill, and retrieve, either independently or in a pack. Hounds are not easily trained, because they think for themselves. If you have never seen a bloodhound track, look it up on Youtube. It is amazing. If there is a human witness saying the escapee went one way, and the bloodhound says he went a different way, always trust the bloodhound. They aren't wrong, but the witnesses can be. Always go with the hound!
