I'm pretty sure that if someone came up to me and said that they thought 
that my son wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree, I wouldn't agree, but I 
wouldn't get all hot and bothered.

BUT, if someone came up to me and said that Lilie was less intelligent than 
other dogs, my hackles would fly up!!

Attack my son and I'll be peeved...attack my dog and I'll really get testy!
