[Dailydrool] scent receptors on a basset

I read once that a human has the amount of "scent receptors" (sorry, I don't know what the technical term is) in his nose equivalent to the size of a postage stamp. The bloodhound, on the other hand, has scent receptors equivalent the size of a large bandana or hankerchief. And the basset is only second to the bloodhound for scenting abilities in the dog world.
