[Dailydrool] Daphneyland fire update

The message below was from 5:16 PM pacific time.  Dawn just called to update me and give me some last minute instructions in case I get the call that they are evacuating.

In the past 2 hours the winds have picked up to 40mph and the fire is getting really close.  It's a minute to minute thing at this point.  They are getting prepared to evacuate b/c they won't have much notice if they need to do this.

If they do evacuate they will be taking the Hounds to Tarzana.  That is where they will need the volunteers.  The Hounds will need to be walked, watered and calmed down.  They will go to temporary foster homes from there.

Please keep the drool flowing.  They need all the help they can get.

Flames are on the horizon to the east - winds have severely kicked up.  This fire is incredible in the speed and movement - La Canada to Acton is one heck of a ways - but not to a wildfire that has a mind of its own.
Freeway ramps are closed in the area and south of the freeway is being evacuated.
We are holding our own.  Unless wind changes it looks to be moving to the east of us....... keep those drool prayers coming.

We're covered in smoke, ash, soot - its been brutal and with wind increasing containment is not likely.

It''s going to be a long night and a long week I suspect.
Many sanctuaries and rescues in the area are evacing - thankfully for now, we appear to be out of the direct path -
