[Dailydrool] Super-drool needed for my new senior rescue boy Stanley

I'm mostly a lurker these days, but I could sure use some DD super-drool (I
remain convinced that little can withstand the healing force of the DD
community). My new rescue boy Stanley (whom I adopted from House of Puddles
earlier this month) is in acute renal failure. It's unclear what brought it
on, though Leptospirosis is one of the suspects. He is at the Critical Care
Unit at my nearby ER vet and will have to remain for the next several days,
undergoing fluid therapy, aggressive antibiotics and other unpleasantries.
Although I've only had him for 5 weeks or so, he has wormed his way deep
into my heart and I am NOT ready to say good-bye. So if you have some drool
to spare, please send it his way.

To top it all off, my job is ending in a few weeks -- so the $3,700 I just
dropped at the E-Hospital (which could go to $5,000 by Friday) is
particularly unwelcome right now. But that's what credit cards are for,
right? I just want my sweet Stanley back HOME!

I'm planning to take him the soft fleece shirt that I wear all the time at
home and his favorite stuffie so he'll be surrounded by reminders of home
and me. If anyone has any other suggestions for acute kidney failure (or
tips on how to get him to eat again when they can get him stablized), please
let me know.

Drool on,

Susan (slave to Toby and Daisy and sweet Stanley)

P.S. Toby and Daisy are saving some extra-special drool for King Bob, their
hero! They KNOW he will do great in physical therapy (but he deserves to be
carried by his royal attendants).
