[Dailydrool] GGBR - the count is now 63 hounds

Thanks to our friends who have already posted about the GGBR Christmas 50...
that has now grown to 63...

We have never handled this big an intake at one time... in 2008 that was
about how many bassets we took in for the whole year. This year, so far we
were well over 80 and thought we might reach 100 before the year ended.
That was stretching our resources to the limit.

Taking in 63 is really stretching us way beyond the limit.

Any and all donations, advice, experience of those who have been there
before (some rescues have already shared advice, and that has been
invaluable), is appreciated.

We've been up to the kennels, catalogued and photographed the hounds,
vaccinated and wormed them all, and are hoping to physically transport them
out by the end of this coming week. We;re just waiting on confirmation from
a local Humane Society who have offered the use of their bus to help
transport the hounds... the offers we've had from so many of our local
shelters and other rescues has been amazing.

I've just updated our FirstGiving page -

If you want to avoid the fees associated with FirstGiving (thanks Chris Bly,
for pointing that out, it's appreciated!), or just prefer to use PayPal,
please send payments to treasurer at ggbassetrescue.org or go to our homepage
and click the PayPal button on the left hand menu bar.

We also welcome checks, made payable to GGBR and sent to:

GGBR (Ruth Robeson)
PO Box 4958
Petaluma
CA 94955

I know this is just about the worst time of year that we could be asking for
help, but we can't wait to have those hounds home for Christmas!

Thanks to all,

Addy
(and Jess, who happened to be born at this very kennel facility. So many of
these hounds look like her, I have to cry every time I look at the photos)
