Thanks to everyone who wrote to say nice things about me adopting Basil! I don't think I'm a particularly good person for doing this; I just think that seniors have a special kind of love to give and I'm going to be the lucky beneficiary of it.

It looks like he won't be coming up here until March 2, which gives me some time to get the house in order and buy all the stuff I need to keep him in comfort.
