Dear Judy and Archie,

 

When BHPS (basset hound puppy syndrome) hits I have one word of advice.
FOSTER a puppy.  Rescues get in puppies more often than you'd think and we
always have trouble finding someone gullible enough, oops  I mean energetic
enough to foster them.  Once you foster a puppy for a few weeks you will
remember how much work they are and will happily send them off to  a
wonderful forever home when one is found.  You will also have you puppy fix,
for a while at least.
