[Dailydrool] Breaking up basset fights

Can anyone share some tips on the safest way to break up a basset brawl? My last couple of fosters have gotten into some bloody battles with my basset Zoe who's about as alpha as they come. I still have a nasty gash on my hand from the last one I tried to break up.
