I think Wulfgang was on that conference call with da Brudder too. Here is his tally sheet over the last month:

Wulfgang 1 Dad's brand new glasses 0
Wulfgang 4 curtains with bitter spray 0
Wulfgang 1 curtain rod 0
Wulfgang 1 mom's jacket 0
Wulfgang 11 Assorted gloves, scarfs, earmuffs, and hats 0
Wulfgang 5 socks 0
Wulfgang 1 brand new roll of paper towels 0
Parading around my inlaws house while I was in the shower with my bra and underwear in his mouth with my mother in law chasing him 1 (he opened the CLOSED bedroom door and somehow got into the suitcase which was zipped).
Wulfgang 1 Mom's new Eeyore cell phone case 0
Wulfgang 1 Thing that sticks on the bottom of the fridge so you can't see the drip pan 0
Wulfgang 1 Refrigerator drip pan 0
Wulfgang 3 dog beds 0 (his and Gunters) any suggestions for chew-safe dog beds would be appreciated, right now I've got a fleece blanket in his crate but he shreds that too.

I've posted about the curtains before, but these were new ones. He got the rod this time. He also likes to chew on blinds. <sigh>

Every time I think I've put something where he can't get to it, he teaches us a new lesson (although the DH's glasses were left on the ottoman so that is his fault. DH and I just look at each other and one of us says Yep, he's a ninja.

I couldn't figure out how the heck he was getting the gloves etc. We have 4 hooks in the basement stairway, and that's where we hang our jackets. They are high, I'm 5'9" and I they are above my head, and go out pretty far, I have to lean pretty far forward to reach the last one from the first step. Neither dog will go down the basement stairs. Finally I was able to catch him in the act. He stands on his hind legs and goes paw by paw until he is completely stretched out on the wall where hooks are, Then he either reaches up with one paw or his nose and hits the jacket until it falls off the hook, then snakes his head down and pulls the jacket up the stairs until he can get into the pockets and get the earmuffs, hat, gloves etc. I've never seen a dog have so much patience/persistance before. I didn't even have the heart to yell at him, he worked so hard. I just wish I had a video camera so I could put it online. (Note: there is now a baby gate in the doorway so he can't do this anymore)

I know they are happy when their tails wag in complete circles, when Gunter does the snoopy dance, when Wulfie comes and sits up in front of me on his hind legs and gives me a hug, and when one of them does the basset 500 around the dining room table while the other one stands and barks at him (they take turns).

Drool to all the sick houndies and people and heart healing drool to anyone that has lost a loved one to the bridge.

BTW, I loved Nigel's song and would love to buy a shirt.

Kim with Gunter (who behaves thank doG), Wulfgang (the Ninja basset) and the cats (George, Chloe and Stevie(who loves to play with the dogs))
