[Dailydrool] Maggie coughing?

This morning Maggie was trying to go #2 outside and then she passed liquid
with mucous. Then, this afternoon she had solid soft bm. I came home from
work and heard this weird sound. All 3 other humans were home today. I
thought perhaps she ate grass, ate dog hair or something silly like that.
She made the noise off and on, not too much. I have never heard a dog cough
before. Our pup went to the vet today and his lungs were totally clear and
he is the smallest here and he or any of the other 3 dogs are showing signs
of anything. Maggie was 9 at the beginning of November.  She is 9 years and
8 months old now. I am very concerned. Of course I scared myself more by
looking online. It says could be tumors, congestive heart failure, etc.
Anyone have experience with this. Before anyone mentions Kennel cough, she
has not been anywhere and our pup has clear lungs and he would have had it.
His heart and lungs were perfect at the vet today. We looked into her mouth
as much as we could with a flashlight. She is eating and drinking. She is
urinating and defecating still. No other medical info.issues known. She is
on heartworm medication and has never tested positive and is tested
annually. She gets medication each month since being tested this April or
March. Please help with info.
