First I want to wish everyone a happy fourth of July, as many of you my
Maggie will be scared , so the air conditioner will be turned up on high even
though it has been a very cool week for Northen Ohio and all the TV's will
be on and turned up , whatever it takes to divert the noise, there are
actually several towns around us also having their fireworks tonight and
they are pretty close so we will be surrounded by it tonight, we have our work
 cut out for us.
Now on to the big question, my Maggie Wags has had problems with her
anal glands since she was just a young pup, they are seated deep and she
can not express them herself, we have tried pumpkin, no help. any ways
when they express her glands ( every two weeks ) she is full and she screams
when they do it, even after they are done, she will whine and cry for the
next 20 minutes, so they must be painful for her, the vet suggested today
that maybe we should think about having them removed, he said that it is not
an easy surgery and quite painful for the dog . I would appreciate some
feedback on this, I am scared and really hate to put her through this, but
something has to change, a week after she has them expressed, she is
scooting again, I can tell just by the way she acts that she doesn't feel good.
please feel free to E Mail me off the drool with any advice, has anyone
had the surgery before ?? are there other options ?
