Hello all,
George and the Colonel in Boston, The weather finally turned nice and
I was able to get The Colonel in the Pool for the first time ever. He
seems to be a good swimmer, but he does not seem to be too fond of
the water. So I was wondering if anyone out there was able to get
their Basset to enjoy at least Wading in the water. Colonel will not
step foot in the Bathroom even with Steak and Prime Rib and no water
in the tub, he will sit at the door but will not walk thought it at
all. I don't mind picking up a 50 pound Basset / Dachshund, but my
back does, plus then having him tying to get out and water all over
is a bit of a pain. Anyway I am hopping that he might at-least enjoy
wading as the weather in New England turn hots! I know this is his
first summer in the northeast, I know he hates the Heat, it reached
close to 80 the other day and he is not himself. As I cut the grass
this weekend, I found the Colonel under my 2007 Ford Escape. He
crawled under the truck to be outside with me but stay cool. I felt
bad, I am hoping to find a way to keep him cool. I know I am a pool
junky, I love to be in the pool, He like to be everywhere with me.
how do we get him to at least be near the water. I have included a
picture of him and his life jacket. Although use caution there is a
chubby life guard in the pool with Colonel. We always welcome new
friends.
