We can so identify with this situation at our house. Peabody,?our Border Collie/Basset mix (picture a Border Collie on Basset legs) was always scared of storms. The?last year or so, he got even?more?so.?He paced and fretted to the point that his teeth would chatter whenever it stormed. His favorite place to sleep at night was between my wife and me. When it would storm, he would pace up and down the bed, jump off the bed and wander through the house, jump back on the bed, lay down, get up and then repeat the routine for however long the storm lasted. At some point during this, he would end?up standing on someone's head, usually his Mom. It's amazing how heavy a 40 pound dog is when he's standing on your head!? Our basset girls, Daphne and Hattie have never fussed much about storms (Hattie might get a little restless once in a while but nothing close to Peabody).

Peabody left us last Friday and went to the bridge.? Late Monday night, it stormed here and it seemed so strange to not have him wake us by pacing and?sitting on one of us during the storm.
