[Dailydrool] The Joy of Anals

Anals are designed to empty slightly with every defecation. When the stools are too soft or the glands are impacted, they do not do this and they leak, or they blow. 

Conley still has very soft stool and I have been unable to get them hard enough to empty his anals so I have to do it about once every ten days and they are always full and the way I know he needs them done is that the other dogs start paying way too much attention to where he sits or to his behind in general. Inexperienced stud dogs (i.e. Nigel) will misinterpret the smell of anals for the smell of a bitch in season and all of a a sudden I have Nigel swooning over Conley.AND Conley starts licking. I then empty his anals, clean his butt with a piece of gauze dipped in ear cleaner, and he is fine for another 10 days and Nigel is back to being disappointed in love, once again. (Nigel is forever going to be disappointed in love, he just doesn't know it yet.) 



So if your gy is accidentally squirting, the anals are too full and you need to start expressing them for him and/or better yet, run him in to see the Vet AND add some pumpkin to his food. See if that helps.
