[Dailydrool] Mango's foot

Well, poor Mango's foot is more swollen and sore today. The problem is that she won't let me soak or hot pack it. If I even start looking like I'm going to touch it she tells me to "get back". So I called the vet man to ask about what we should do - and instead of soaking her foot, we are soaking all four! He suggested putting a couple of inches of water (tepid to start - then we can make it warmer as she tolerates it) in the tub and just stand her in it. It worked great! She doesn't seem to mind standing in the tub, though she was a little confused about the reason she had to stand in warm water on a hot day, and we just did 10 minutes or so to start. I've added epsom salts to the water and we will soak her feet that way. He also said that some people just take the dog to the beach and walk it in the ocean, but wasn't sure he'd recommend that for a Basset LOL. Anyway, thought this might help others who's houndies are less than cooperative when they have sore pawsies. 

Hopefully Mango's foot will start to drain soon and heal up. Then I'll just wait and see what she has in store for us next.
