[Dailydrool] Alternative Redneck bath

I and my friend at work (fellow dog owner, but not a basset slave) came up with another idea. The perfect working height for bathing a short legged dog is the bed of a pick-up truck. Put vari-kennel top on tailgate, run garden hose from house to engine compartment of truck, coil several coils of hose on top of a hot running engine, being careful to not entangle in any moving parts, then wash the dog with nicely warmed water. LOL

Of course, you CAN just attach the hose to a sink and adjust the temperature in the house, but that wouldn't be quite so redneck! Loved the barbeque idea though. On a side note, we had our gas shut off after a particularly long hard winter, so showers were taken using a garden hose that was placed up on the roof to be heated by the sun. If you get enough hose up there and keep it full of water, it heats satisfactorily after only an hour or so. Talk about a redneck solar water heater! Those solar showers heat up nicely too. One can live pretty cheaply if one really tries. Take it from someone who spent a LOT of time camping as a kid! Even if the economy stays bad, there are plenty of ways to survive!
