Here is a recipe that I make up for the rescue hounds and it is so easy I
thought that you might like to try it. This is the basic recipe but you can
play areound with it according to the time and supplies your have.

Thaw out some flats (2 to 4 depending on how rich you are feeling) of
ground chicken meat. Cook up a big pot of basmatti rice in your rice cooker.
(get these expensive devices at GARAGE SALES...to buy them new is wayyyy
too spensive. ( I use either brown or white Basmatti rice from Trader Joes..it
 is cheap and good)

"Fluff" it just as you would do for yourself. (the dawgs dislike blobs of
rice so its good if you can cook up a fluffy batch)

Now take a huge bag of broccoli or mixed veggies and toss them into a
just to the boiling point Pot of chicken broth or water. Cook the vegetables
until they are getting softish. Take off the burner.

Plug up your clean sink. Lay the slabs of ground meat in the sink Pour on
the Veggies and broth or water. Dump in the cooked rice (can be hot)
Wash your hands. Now mix it all up. As it cools I use my hands to moosh up
the veggies. The hot hot hot veggies and rice do cook the meat a little.
If the veggies are cooked then the dogs seem to be able to digest them
better.

Put blobs uhhh "portions" of this mixture into storage containers. Lable
the containers with the date and be sure to put that it is "dawg fude" so
that it will not be mistaken.

We have chickens so they also contribute to the dogs dinners with fresh
eggs...if you mix in some eggs and oil (maybe even some handfulls of diced up
celery ) it makes a grrreat loaf for houndies (AND people we found out....
350 oven for about an hour. Mmm not badd.
Add smashed garlic cloves too if you have the energy my guys LOVE the
garlic.

This is such a FAST, pretty cheap and easy way to fix your Hounds good
food. We add this 1/2 & 1/2 for the rescue guys meals. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
easy and good for them. Try it why don't you?

This mixture is specially good for the incoming dogs who maybe are too
upset to eat. I just offer this..maybe hand feed to get them started..and
Presto! They are soon eatting with gusto! This is what they usually get when
they first come into our house. They have a little meal of this REAL FOOD
and they feel better about things.
