[Dailydrool] Any Hints Please

After a long time thinking and then searching our Basset George is coming home on 7th March.
He is 12 weeks old.

Question-

Do we let him sleep in our bedroom for the first few nights or do we leave him downstairs?
We have a crate but do not want to introduce him to it too early.

Should we get a collar and lead now?  Fully enclosed garden 

Toys- what should we buy?

Any further hints/advice appreciated
