Cookie has asked that I pass this on to the Daily Drool Family:

Subject: thanks so much

We want to thank all of our friends who have sent condolences and love and
thoughts on the loss of our dear princess Pawcasso Blossom. We thought she
was doing pretty good until Sunday afternoon and then it seemed like things
went downhill very fast. We talked to the vet who has been treating the
heart issue twice. The second time she was at church and she thought it
best we take her to the ER vet that just recently opened here. Aunty Sandy
told us to call them ahead of time and inform them of what we were bringing.
It was all I could do to not tell her I didn't think she was going to make
it.

When we got there Blossom did manage to walk in on her own. A tech checked
her over and then the vetlady came out and actually got down on the floor
with her. They did an ultra sound to see if the fluid was in her heart or
around it and it was the latter so the plan was to give her an IV to make
her comfortable and then inject a needle into the chest and draw off the
fluid. if it stayed off we were doing okay but if it kept coming back the
odds would not be so good. They also put her on oxygen and told me they
would give us an estimate of the costs. Within a couple of minutes the vet
lady came out and said she had gone into cardiac arrest and did I want to be
with her when they gave her the euthanasia shot. I said i just couldn't but
wanted to say good bye. I really wish I hadn't as when i walked into the
room she was flailing all over the table. It will be a long time before I
can get that sight out of my mind for sure. I know they did care about us
as the vet lady had tears coming down her cheeks, too. I guess it was best
that she didn't have to suffer long, but sure doesn't help the loss any.

Monday was rough at work, but I think we are hanging in there. Jennie seems
okay but she has only been here since the weekend before Christmas. Oh, she
isn't going to have the foster behind her name any longer. She will be a
permament member of the family now. Annie Belle needs her very much to get
thru the difficult time as she is taking things harder.

We have been quite overwhelmed at the wishes we have received from close
friends, drool friends and even names we aren't quite familiar with.
Blossom was just a quiet shy girl who wanted to help those who need homes as
she was there once. We still have some of her artwork if anyone is
interested and will still do bridge paintings as the photo place made master
copies of her work. And do remember when the holidays come around the
ornymints and stawkings will be available. Annie Belle said it her absolute
duty to carry on that tradition and she hopes folks won't let her down. We
had no idea how many lives she really touched. Thank you for your kindness
and caring. Maybe we are just numb and think we are doing pretty good.

Cookie, Annie Belle WC, and Jennie Mae
