I called the vet this morning to let them know what's going on. Vet
called back and we have a theory for the moment. He's thinking that
this episode is a perfect storm of sorts due to his sensitive stomach,
heat intolerance, renal issues and the ehrlickia. He has suggested the
i/d canned food but we both know the rice will make it worse so he's
given me the ok to make his food until I can get a case of the food he
can eat in. So he's on chicken and potatoes for a day or 2, if I can
get him to eat it, the picky boy. Right now there isn't much the vet
can do and since they are a bit crowded I don't want to leave him up
there all day. He did ok me to give him Tesla's anti-nausea pills for
today and tomorrow, we have to keep them on hand in case she eats the
wrong thing, like a bird, which is at least twice a month. So far I've
been able to get him to eat some treats that are on his 'off limits
list' but at least it was something.
We have the AC down to 72 and I'm having to wear a long sleeved shirt,
but Kelvin's comfortable. The thermometer on the back porch is reading
98 at the moment and it's humid. Hubby and I decided to crate him in
the living room from now on instead of leaving him in the laundry room
with the others. He did ok last night but when I had to run to the
store a little while ago he howled and carried on until I got back and
let him out. He has a tendency to mark everything when we leave so the
crate is a necessity.

So for right now we are watching really, really close. Making sure he
is drinking plenty, etc. His next blood test is on the 18th unless vet
decides to pull it early.
