[Dailydrool] Buford: mid-surgery update

The internist just called in the middle of Buford's surgery.

1)  There are nodules on his spleen and one on his liver.  They  
appear benign but the only way to know for sure is to remove the  
spleen and do a liver lobectomy so the nodules can be biopsied.

2)  His esophagus shows lots of scarring from years of acid reflux-- 
no surprise there after all the years of bloating....that will most  
likely be treated with Prilosec.

3)  They took a stomach tissue sample and some tissue samples from  
his intestines for biopsy to check for IBD.

4)  As of 2:00 he was doing very well under anesthesia -- he expected  
at least another hour to 1.5 hours of surgery.  He will call me again  
when done.

.....I'm going to be sick now...
