[Dailydrool] What a week! Glad its over!

OK, lets start by saying that by Saturday morning I was soooo tired I poured
my coffee into the dog's scrambled eggs.  Here's what happened:

You know I posted about my Hal with his eye problems.  OK, so Tues. Hal hadd
his episode with the "cone of terror".  Hal had a recheck on his eye weds.
morning & Spencer went in to vet for dental & xrays.  All seemed fine with
Spencer until thurs afternoon.  Spencer started having the dry heaves, acted
painful & had diarrhea.  I called vet & finally ended up taking Spencer to
vets house that evening for 3 injections.  We were back at vet clinic friday
afternoon & he was feeling better & starting to eat.  He got more injections
for pain & nausea also sent blood work to the lab.  3 (or so) days without
his thyroid meds & nothing for his arthritis didn't help his disposition
either.  Luckily it's really flexible where I work & I was able to come home
by 1pm to care for Spencer.  Got blood work results, his white blood cell
count is only slightly elevated so we put him on antibiotics (if he doesn't
barf it up!)  Whew, ok... Spencer's doing fine now, still on mostly bland
diet & adding regular food slowly, but up to his full amount instead of
almost hourly feedings.

While all of this is going on I'm trying to keep Hal from rubbing his eye.
He's now got doggles (he wore them for halloween, look out Micheal Phelps!)
& an "inner tube" (thank you Bev & Mr. Cooper aka inner tube head <g>).  Hal
goes to the eye specialist tomorrow afternoon & regular vet weds morning for
acupuncture for his allergies.

Sara Sue also goes in on weds to have her ear rechecked & I'm happy to say
that so far no green pus is coming out, but vet needs to use otoscope.  So
hopefully sticky icky ooey gooey treatment worked.  Will know for sure
wednesday.
