[Dailydrool] Old Timers

I joined the Drool in 1996. We had just lost our 14-month-old badly bred "AKC Basset Hound" puppy, Cleo, to a probable brain tumor, and we had just discovered this great thing called The World Wide Web (www). I began to look for bassets, and joined the Drool and the basset-l. Through Georgia Parker and Harry Chipman, I was directed to a great breeder in our area who just happened to have a 5-month-old female who hadn't grown into the show dog she was hoped to be.  Enter Sweet Ol' Sarah, still going strong at age 13.

That was back when the original Drool mom, Nancy Gallagher, was shepherding us all. Droolers laughed and cried and supported each other then, as now. It's a fantastic bunch of folks, glued together by a fantastic bunch of bassets!
