[Dailydrool] Hip Dysplasia

Hi Droolers,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  My male Basset Basil (7
years old) was diagnosed with hip dysplasia last week after we noticed
him limping.  He also has the beginnings of arthritis in his knees.  He
was prescribed Rimadyl for 2 weeks.  Unfortunately, we have a two-story
house and our back yard has hills and lots of stairs.  I understand that
this is a condition that won't go away, but can be managed.  Once his
medication is finished, should I start him on supplements?  This is new
to me (and a bit scary) so I'm hoping for some suggestions from those of
you who have experienced this problem.  

P.S.  I signed up for the short list this year and I'm SO excited!
There is nothing more fun than getting beautiful Basset cards every day!
